CBD Infused Beverages
CBD infused beverages (Cannabidiol) are currently a hot topic, in 2019 as more and more beverage manufacturers look to infuse their beverages with this hemp derivative.
According to BNN Bloomberg, the hemp industry could grow by 40 times over the next three years to reach $22 billion in 2022 as the multi-billion-dollar race is on to get CBD-infused beverages to market*.
Gut Health
A few years ago, probiotics were all the rage, however. Kombucha is this year’s prescription for improved gut health. Traditional Kombucha gained tremendous popularity in 2018. We will continue to see creative new flavors for this 2,000-year-old beverage emerge in 2019 as well as new ways to use Kombucha. More and more grocery and c-store retailers are adding in-store Kombucha dispensers to experiment with the beverage. In 2019 we expect Kombucha to be infused in all sorts of products such as coffee beverages, cocktails and CBD infused beverages!
Chilled Coffee
In 2019 we expect to see growth in the category driven by chilled coffee beverages blended with plant-based non-dairy alternatives such as almond milk as demand for these types of products are increasing exponentially.
In addition to non-dairy alternatives, we expect to see the leading and growing brands add a plethora of creative new flavors including new floral flavor profiles!
Analysts have predicted that the cold brew coffee market will register a CAGR of over 27% by 2022**.
